The round #4 of the National Italian series e-Enduro goes back again to the Val di Pejo in a two weeks time. This is a spectacular round coming to its second edition for 2019, with its distinctive natural views and unique landscapes from the natural trails of the race course.
The unprecedented and violent windy storms that battered the Trentino last year did not leave the region unscathed. After a first reconnaissance following the heavy snowfall of last winter, it was immediately clear that the thousands of fallen trees had affected the original race course and important modifications were needed. The time was tight but this condition only added motivations to the already in place cooperation between the Stelvio National Park, the Pejo local administration and the Touristic Pejo Consortium permitting to make things straight in a very limited amount of time.

This year, the competition will be on great novelty of the Val di Sole Bike Land initiative: the fantastic e-bike specific trails of the Pejo Trail Arena which is immersed in the Stelvio National Park. All the special stages will be on the typical local undergrowth vegetation, alternated by wooden footbridges and natural rock gardens with technical passages, breathtaking views, descents and climbing segments with natural obstacles.

There will be four special stages and a high altitude transfer segment on the Tarlenta cableway for therider’s maximum fun and also for the public, which is waited in great numbers to watch their idols in action and to test all the last novelties from the international e-MTB world.
The Race Course

Likewise the 2018 edition, there will be four special stages again interrupted by the charging point CO, while the ascending to the special stage #1 start will be mechanical.
Loop #1 includes the special stages #1 and #2 and will be 15 kilometres long with a 1260 meters elevation gain, partially served by the cableway.

Loop #2 includes special stages #3 and #4, has almost a thousand meters of elevation gain but with less challenging transfer segments and no mechanical aid for the lifting.
The great news of the 2019 edition is the location of the starting point of PS 4, placed nearby the Lake Plan Palù dam, the Noce Nero’s river mouth. To make a lot of riders happier, we eliminated the final trait of the special stage where the athletes used to push their bikes on foot.

PS1

There won’t be too much of a difference from the 2018 edition. This full of character special stage is the longest of the race, more than three kilometres long, with a first almost gravity like segment ending in front of the Scoiattolo’s Shelter. After that, an initial short tapered segment goes into trail 127, ending the stage arriving into a clearing ( expect abundant larches roots and some wooden bridges crossing that could distract you from your perfect riding). The end of the stage will be followed by a transfer segment that goes on singletracks, passing close to two beautiful falls.

The total distance is 3.3 kilometres with an elevation gain of 90 meters and 350 meters of descent.
PS2

The 2019 PS2 is heavily modified from the last year edition due to the incredible amount of trees falls interesting the Pian di Vegaia starting zone that made it almost impenetrable. Instead and thanks to a clever trail hunting activity, we were luckily able to trace a 50% new special stage course. The special stage starts with a short climb but the remaining two kilometres will be gravity like. Some of the old flow is retained , interrupted only by new curves to bypass the fallen trees roots, rocks passages on the same as last year final segment.

The total length t is 2.1 kilometres with over 350 meters of positive gain and almost none negative.
At the end of the stage, a transfer segment on asphalt to the Finish Area for the battery recharging and the CO.
PS3

Special stage #3 will start with a beautiful flow segment with a good gradient on a natural trail. At the end of it, a tapered segment Moto Enduro style leads to the most interesting point of this stage: the Rio Tavielà river crossing on the recently rebuild footbridge. After the crossing, the stage re-enters a section of the trail full of curves and raises, in a mix of Highlands and British Columbia forests like landscape until the arrival at the Malga Frattasecca.
At the end of the stage, a short asphalt only transfer segment will lead to the start of the last special stage.

The total length of the stage is 2.2 kilometres with 200 meters of descent and 40 of ascent.
PS4

As anticipated, the start of special stage #4 will not be no longer at the Acqua di Pejo Springs but will be raised in altitude, gaining over 150 meters of descent and most of all, a priceless view over the Pian Palù Lake. It’s predominantly gravity like special stage, starting on the hairpins of the pedestrian trail then moving on a short new segment rebuilt for the occasion that joins the stage low segment, bordering the Noce Nero in a succession of curves, counterbends, passages with raises on exposed roots and some very technical segments.

Total length is 2.5 kilometres with 35 meters of descent and 40 meters of ascent.
At the end of the stage, a brief asphalt transfer segment to the finish area where the pasta party will be served and the prize ceremony hosted.
