NEW SEASON, NEW RULES

NEW SEASON, NEW RULES

As the national and international mountain e-bike race series benchmark is upon us to make all the rules we implemented observed by all the participants in the series and to continue to be an example for all the new race series that are using our format as a model, keeping in mind our rule book is designed in a close cooperation with the FCI (Federazione Ciclistica Italiana), the Italian cycling federation body.

The start of the 2018 season is approaching and we would like to underline the changes made to the FCI’s rule book regarding the enlargement of the race categories and the conformity checks to the participants’ bikes.

The first substantial modification is the change made to the race categories, bringing them from six to seven. To permit to race at an equal level to everyone, we modified the EEM3 category age bracket, now from 46 to 55 years old and introduced the new EEM4, over 56 years old.

The second change regards the bike’s conformity checks to be made before and during the race. From this season on, we will augment the surprise checks and the rider refusing to have his bike checked will be automatically disqualified from the overall classification and from the race series. The same will happen to the rider using a battery or electric motor modified bike to boost performances, he will be disqualified from the overall classification and from the race series as well. We want to stress again that shuttling is forbidden and anyone doing so will be disqualified.

A quick note on the equipment markings: like during the last season, we will provide to the riders the wheels and battery marking stickers produced by our sponsor Speedydecal.com
